In MMA, to be the best, you just don’t have to beat them, you have to train with them as well.

In line with that, here are the 10 best MMA camps, in no particular order, in the world today.

  1. Team Takedown

Team Takedown is a unique team because it doesn’t take a cut from their fighter’s salary. Rather, they take all of their winnings and in return, fighters are paid salaries.

Team Takedown maintains that this format has worked great for them as fighters can simply focus on their training alone. And, with them having produced fighters like Johny Hendricks, Jared Rosholt, and Chas Skelly, it’s hard to see any reason to doubt their statement.

  1. Team Alpha Male

Light weight fighters are encouraged to join Team Alpha Male as that has been their calling card since 2004.

Known fighters include Joseph Benavidez, Chad Mendes, Danny Castillo, TjDillahsaw and so much more.

  1. Roufusport

Founded by Duke Foufus, a former world kickboxing champion, Roufus sport is currently spearheaded by the Sergio brothers, Anthony and Sergio.

Aside from the two, the other fighters that train here include CM Punk, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

  1. Alliance MMA

Founded back in 2007 by Brandon Vera and Eric Del Fierro, Alliance MMA is one of the more consistently successful teams in MMA.

Footwork and movement has become somewhat of trademark for those training with Alliance MMA, which includes names such as Dominick Cruz, Myles Jury and Alexander Gustafsson.

  1. Tristar

This gym in Montreal, Quebe, Canada, owes much of its reputation and success to its head coach, FirasZahabi. Zahai teaches striking, grappling and almost every other aspect of MMA, all the while experimenting with various training methods, as well as techniques.

The team has housed some of the biggest names in MMA, such as Jon Jones and Georges St-Pierre.

  1. Blackzillians

While recently founded in 2011, the Blackzillians have quickly gained the reputation of being one of the top MMA gyms in the world. This is in part because of Henri Hooft and the success that the team’s fighters have had over the years.

The Blackzillians have been home to fighters such as Vitor Belfort, Anthony Rumble Johnson and Rashad Evans.

  1. Kings MMA

Master Rafael Cordeiro founded Kings MMA and has turned it into one of the most successful MMA gyms in recent years.

This may be partly because of the success the fighters Rafael Dos Anjos and FabbricioWerdum, both of which are champions, may have had. Though, it may also be because of Cordeiro’s reputation for having coached Shogun Rua, Wanderlei Silva and Anderson Silva.

  1. American Top Team

Fighters of the ATT are some of the most successful in all of MMA, having fought in and won belts in UFC, Bellator, PRIDE, DREAM and Strikeforce.

Some of ATT’s most famous fighters include King Mo Lawas, Hector Lombard, Robbie Lawler and ThiagoAlves.

  1. Nova Uniao

Founded as a Brazilian JiuJitsu Academy, many of the grapplers coming out of Nova Uniao have gone on to become successful MMA fighters, making Nova Uniao one of the most prominent gyms when it comes to BJJ.

Notable fighters include BJ Penn, Renan Barao and Jose Aldo.

  1. Jackson-Winklejohn MMA

New Mexico is considered as the Mecca for MMA fighters, and for good reason, it’s the closest thing to a mixed martial artist factory that we have.

Proof of this is the success of many of its students, such as Carlos Condit, Georges St. Pierre, Donald Cerrone, and Jon Jones.
